Green Flag on 2010 at VIR
ALTON, Va. - In 2009, AMG racing and Todd Lamb captured an MX-5 Cup-record
eight races and knocked off Team MER's streak of three-consecutive series
champions in dominating fashion. Lamb is gone in 2010, having already finished
on the podium in a Mazda RX-8 in Grand-Am Rolex competition, but AMG has
a two-car effort at VIRginia International Raceway with an eye on another

JUSTIN PISCITELL finishes in
3rd place in his inaugural season as a professional racer in the Playboy
MX-5 Cup series and is selected Rookie of the Year by SCCA and Mazda.
In a wild double weekend at Virginia International Raceway, Justin finished
P4 and P2 in the two races.
In race one, Justin set the fastest
lap of the race, but starting 5th he was unable to work his way to the podium,
finishing 4th for his 9th top ten finish of the season.
In the second race, Justin started in P11 due to an engine problem during
qualifying, but worked his way through the pack (with the help of an amazing
number of racing incidents) to finish 2nd and win the Carbotech Hard Charger
award.
His combined points were only surpassed
by the series winner, Todd Lamb, but due to a series rule that allows you
to drop your lowest finish, Justin finished 4 points out of the second spot.
In the 10 events held in 2009, Justin finished in the top 10 Ten times and
had 5 podium finishes. He never finished lower than 7th place in the entire
season.
Justin received the BF Goodrich Rookie of the Year Award for the season
based upon voting by the Sports Car Club of America and Mazda Motorsports.
